This May Day, let us fight for a free world

By the Labor Commission of the APL–

Around the world the flames of liberation are spreading. Palestine has been fighting an ongoing genocide for the past 7 months. In America, we have seen one of the most active years for organized labor and most recently we have seen thousands of students rise up in support of Gaza.

As the internal contradictions of capital heighten, the working class of the world is noticing and fighting back. On this May Day, we communists must accept the task of leading the fight against all forms of discrimination and towards a free world!

It is the pleasure of the American Party of Labor to announce that, on this International Workers’ Day, our Labor Commission has been reinstated! The Labor Commission will work tirelessly to advance the cause of the working class. We accept the tremendous task at our feet willingly. We will not allow this wave of action to subside!

Towards a free world! All Power to the Working People!

Here are comments from some of our members in the Labor Commission of the American Party of Labor:

I dedicate my time and words here to the 40,000 Palestinians who have lost their life tragically from Zionist aggression and Israeli genocide. The world will not forget the names of those we lost. Around the world workers have stood strong with Gaza and vowed to stop trade to Israel. This level of international solidarity is desperately needed and that’s what May Day means to me. May Day gives hope to all the workers of the world that we will be free! Onward to a Socialist World!”
–Leon V.

“To me May Day is a time for the working class to see its strength. As the crisis of the imperialist system deepens, it becomes apparent to more and more of the proletariat that only organized collective action can bring about the radical change we need. As the working class consciousness grows I look forward to future May Days where the revolutionary will and organization of the masses will reach the point of general political strikes. Seeing the mobilizations and direct actions each May Day strengthens my resolve to keep fighting for the environment, the liberation of all oppressed peoples, and our socialist future. We have nothing to lose but our chains! Free Palestine!”
–Myles D.

“International Workers’ Day is the single most important holiday in history. Its relevance transcends all nations, ethnicities, and religious groups. With the growing divide in quality of life between the working and ruling classes, a rising fascist movement, and the unprecedented boom in artificial intelligence which threatens millions of livelihoods, the meaning of first of May must be not only celebrated, but acted upon now more than ever.”
–Leif G.

“What May Day means to me is renewal and rebirth. It’s a reminder that the working class revolution is the springtime of the world, blooming out of the over-ripe and rotting core of capital. May Day being placed at the height of springtime should be a reminder to us all of the hopefulness of our cause and also that there is so much to do. There’s a long year ahead of us comrades, but remember, “we have nothing to lose but our chains!” Unite!”
–Monty S.

“May Day is, to me, a beautiful example of internationalism and solidarity among the working class. For over one hundred years the workers of the world have come together annually to celebrate the struggle for their liberation. Seeing that unity every may gives me hope and a warm fraternal feeling I’ve never felt anywhere else.”
