It is with the deepest grief that the Secretariat of the American Party of Labor reports that we received the following communique from our comrades of the Dominican Communist Labor Party:

Comrades and friends:

With much sadness and pain, we inform you that Comrade Roberto Sánchez, a member of the Central Committee of our Communist Labor Party (PCT), has left us.  Leader of the Frente Amplio; former leader of the Federation of Dominican Students; former president of the College of Engineers and Architects; UASD professor, Comrade Roberto was an excellent revolutionary, great human being and great friend.

A great loss!

The comrade suffered from pancreatic cancer with liver metastases. He was admitted to the clinic several days ago. And he has passed away.

A hard blow. We have lost one of our most qualified cadres. Forty-five uninterrupted years of revolutionary militancy. A true communist

The funerals will start tomorrow at the Blandino Funeral Home.

With much pain; but with firmness and in struggle!
