No to the American Aggression Against Venezuela!

The U.S. Attack on Venezuela Is an Act of Thuggery and State Terrorism!

At dawn today, Jan. 3, the criminal Trump carried out his threat to strike Venezuela. U.S. military aviation launched air strikes against strategic sites in the capital, Caracas, as well as in other regions of the country, while the occupant of the White House announced the abduction of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife.

This aggression comes after a series of threats made by Trump over recent weeks against the Venezuelan state, under false pretexts that everyone knows serve as a cover for seizing Venezuela’s oil and mineral wealth and overthrowing the government of President Maduro, which rejects U.S. hegemony. This is part of a broader plan targeting the whole of South America, which the Trump administration views merely as a backyard for colonialists and vampires.

The Workers’ Party (Tunisia):

• Condemns this aggression against Venezuela, which represents nothing more than an act of rampage and state terrorism, and a blatant violation of the sovereignty of an independent state. It confirms the imperialist, militaristic, and expansionist nature of the Trump government, which tramples all laws and norms and shows no respect for the sovereignty of peoples;

• Warns of the danger of this behavior, which opens the doors wide open to international lawlessness and, in reality, constitutes an extension of what has happened and continues to happen in Gaza, Palestine, and the “Middle East” in general—aggressions and wars of extermination aimed at regaining full control and tearing apart the unity of countries and peoples for the benefit of the Zionist imperialist monster;

• Reaffirms its principled solidarity with the Venezuelan people in these difficult moments and confirms its support for all the peoples of South America in their confrontation with the logic of domination, subjugation, and interference aimed at imposing compliant and dependent policies and governments;

• Calls upon all progressive forces in Tunisia, the Arab world, and worldwide to reject the aggression against Venezuela and to unite efforts to thwart policies of control, thuggery, and the crushing of the peoples’ aspirations for liberation through the rule of the jungle—policies that threaten world peace more than ever.
