Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Labor (PCT) | Jan. 3, 2026 | Translated for the Red Phoenix by Bruno M.–

SANTO DOMINGO – The Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Labor (PCT) expresses its strongest condemnation of the recent escalation of aggression and interference by the United States government against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. This position responds to our firm conviction in defense of the sovereignty of the Latin American peoples against imperialist ambitions to destabilize the region and fracture the unity of our sister nations.
We consider that the air strikes and economic siege, political threats implemented by
Washington, represent a flagrant violation of international law and the principle of
self-determination. For the PCT, these pressure tactics are tools of domination that seek only to punish a people who have decided to be masters of their own destiny and natural resources, challenging the hegemony that has historically been attempted to be imposed on the continent.
We denounce that this new imperialist offensive is part of a systematic strategy to restore control over countries that have chosen independent paths of development. In this context, Venezuela’s sovereignty is the frontier of dignity for all of the Americas; therefore, its defense must be assumed as an inescapable priority for all the progressive and revolutionary forces that aspire to a world based on respect and social justice.
In this regard, the PCT makes a patriotic and urgent call to the Dominican people to remain alert and express their active rejection of this aggression. Our shared history of struggle against foreign intervention closely links us to the Venezuelan cause, reminding us that peace and progress in our region depend exclusively on unity and mutual support in the face of external attacks that seek to undermine popular democracy.
Finally, we call on all democratic, popular, and social organizations in the Dominican Republic to organize days of solidarity and mobilization in support of the Bolivarian Revolution. It is imperative that the voice of Dominican workers be heard with strength in defense of Venezuela, reaffirming that we will not allow the peace of a people who only yearn to build their future without foreign tutelage to be violated.
