The Marxist-Leninist Communist Party of Ecuador denounces and rejects the treacherous terrorist aggression of US imperialism against Venezuela.

Under the pretext of combating drug trafficking, the United States has carried out a systematic process of economic, political, and military aggression and attacks, manifested in the seizure of Venezuelan resources and companies in US territory, the economic and commercial blockade, the mobilization of military contingents to the Caribbean region and the Venezuelan coasts, the hijacking of oil tankers, the flying of aircrafts over Venezuelan territory, and today, the attack and bombing of barracks in the capital and in several cities of the country.

As Donald Trump himself has declared, his main objective is to appropriate Venezuela’s oil and mineral resources, which—cynically—they claim belong to them. To achieve this, they require the establishment of a complicit and subservient regime, subjected to their imperialist dictates, and they count on the traditional Venezuelan bourgeoisie as an ally to achieve this purpose.

The PCMLE expresses its militant solidarity with the people of Venezuela; rejects the kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife; supports the statements of Venezuelan institutions that have declared their willingness to confront and reject the invading forces and to preserve the country’s sovereignty. Likewise, it joins the numerous statements of Venezuelan workers, youth, and people, willing to mobilize and defend Venezuela’s independence and sovereignty. We also express our solidarity with the Marxist-Leninist Communist Party of Venezuela, which under these conditions organizes the resistance of the Venezuelan workers and people.

We call on the workers and people of Ecuador, as well as left-wing political forces, to express their rejection and condemnation of the criminal and terrorist aggression of US imperialism against Venezuela, and to organize, in unity, anti-imperialist mobilizations and the anti-imperialist struggle.

Imperialist aggression against Venezuela is aggression against all the peoples and countries of Latin America!
