Save Gaza – A free and independent Palestine!
On the evening of October 1, “Israeli” warships intercepted and attacked the humanitarian mission of the Global Sumud Flotilla, and by doing so, committed an act of piracy in international waters. The activists were kidnapped and will be deported to “Israel.” Some boats will be sunk.
This umpteenth crime is the responsibility of the fascist government of Netanyahu and his “godfather” Trump. Also complicit are the governments that act as accomplices for “Israel,” including Meloni’s government and the arms companies, such as Leonardo, which are raking in profits from the blood of the Palestinians.
The Meloni government has done nothing to protect the activists aboard the Flotilla. It has not guaranteed diplomatic status to the humanitarian workers. Instead of telling the Zionists not to attack, it asked that the “irresponsible” crews turn back, denigrating and provoking them.
The Italian warship was sent not to defend against Zionist attacks in international waters, but to discourage the activists from continuing their voyage to break the illegal naval blockade (imposed by “Israel” in 2009) to deliver humanitarian assistance. The ship abandoned its escort 150 nautical miles from Gaza, thus legitimizing the “Israeli” violations of international and maritime law.
The heads of the fake bourgeois opposition have lined up behind the divisive and underhanded policies of a government ready to obey the diktats of Trump and Netanyahu, but that aggressively represses protestors. These “leaders” have attempted to convince the activists of the Flotilla to give up their mission, to think about the situation, and not to take risks. They were thanked by Meloni, who continues to cover up the crimes of “Israel.”
The attack on the activists of the Sumud Flotilla is an attack on the proletarian and popular masses of our country, and of all countries that express solidarity with the Palestinian people.
Now, it is time for the manual workers, port workers, workers in general, the youth, and the women of the working class to speak.
Let the protest rise up in every city! Everyone out to the national general strike proclaimed by the base labor unions and Cgil (translator’s note: the Italian Confederation of Labor) for the entire day of Friday, October 3!
Let us follow the example of the port workers of Genoa, Livorno, Ravenna, Taranto, and the other European ports. Not one nail for Zionism! Break
off all connections with the terrorist state of “Israel!”
On October 4, we will be participating en masse in the national protest in Rome (2:30 p.m. at the Porta San Paolo), alongside the resistance of the Palestinian people, to stop the genocide and Zionism, and for the smashing of all relations with “Israel!”
The general strike and the protest must be the beginning of a mass struggle in the factories and among the people to bring down the government of poverty, war, and shame.
A government of bosses that attacks salaries and pensions, increases military expenditures, cuts social and healthcare spending, and that lets poverty run rampant while it protects the wealthy parasites…
A government of imperialists, reactionaries, fascists, and arms traffickers, slaves to the US, the EU, and the Zionists, that is pushing us toward war for a new redivision of the world, while passing repressive laws…
We reiterate that solidarity with the Palestinian population cannot be reconciled with NATO, the EU, and “Israel.”
By defending the Palestinian people, we defend the cause of peace, other peoples against Zionist aggression, and ourselves from imperialist and fascist brigandage that destroys our working and living conditions.
Let us give birth to a united front of struggle, with the working class at its head – its essential role reemerged once again in the strike on September 22 – to defeat imperialist politics and its collaborators and develop international solidarity between workers and oppressed people. A popular front for bread, peace, and freedom!
From the struggles of today will rise the alternative of the revolutionary power of tomorrow!
