The Science, Technology, and Health Committee of the American Party of Labor—
In March the Supreme Court launched further attacks against the working class by creating massive loopholes to allow companies and negligent local governments to pollute our communities. The Supreme Court makes it completely transparent in its ruling of whose side it’s on by stating: “What is important, these companies tell us, are narrative limitations other than end-result requirements.” The Supreme Court doesn’t care about the countless lives saved and millions more improved by these regulations.
The Court defers to a document written by organizations of the owning class such as the National Mining Association, the National Association of Manufacturers, the National Pork Producers Council, the American Petroleum Institute, and more. Corporations want to return to the era of smog-choked cities and burning rivers since they will have to spend less money protecting our waters, air, and ecosystem. They are now free to sacrifice the environment for their bottom line, with the end result being widespread pollution.
We will now be exposed to sewage, toxic chemicals, mining waste, and further environmental destruction. We see over and over again that the Supreme Court is another tool for the capitalist class to secure their interests over those of the people. We need not only to abolish the Supreme Court, which is an appendage of the capitalist class, but to dismantle the entire capitalist system and build a socialist one that will give the power to the working class to protect our environment and our health!
