European Marxist-Leninists: “No to national unity after the warmongers!”

At this time of escalating warmongering, the deterioration of the living conditions of the workers due to the diversion of social budgets for military expenditures, growing danger of war… when confusion, also within the left, leads some to defend the “fatherland” and the Europe of capital and war and others to align themselves with “good” imperialism, in the face of the aggressiveness of the US; we find the following statement clarifying.

The international solidarity of the working class is of crucial importance to strengthen the struggle against the growing danger of war and militarization. It is the response to the attempts of the bourgeoisie and the monopolies to try to get the working classes of different countries to fight each other. This is part of the necessary struggle against the anti-worker plan of the EU and the European states to “Make Europe Great Again” (MEGA) by distributing billions of dollars of public money to the war industry and strengthening the European monopolies.

Strengthening European imperialism is not the answer to the current situation. The imperialist EU is not synonymous with peace and security, quite the opposite. The war in Ukraine and support for the Israeli genocide in Palestine have clearly shown this.

We say: neither Trump, nor Putin, nor European “defense”!

With the arrival of Donald Trump as president of the United States, international conflicts, including between that country and the EU, have intensified dramatically. Trump today represents the most aggressive sectors of US capital, who want to stop and reverse by force the decline that US imperialism has suffered for decades and “make US imperialism great again.” In an effort to mobilize broad sections of society in support of its imperialist goals, fascism is growing in the U.S. and around the world.

To win this battle, U.S. imperialism has made a significant change in its foreign relations. Trump is seeking a deal with Russia over Ukraine to share the country and its significant resources. U.S. imperialism is seeking to weaken the ties between Russia and China and to create new alliances. In this way, he openly reveals the real goal of the war in Ukraine: a struggle for land and resources, in which Ukrainian soldiers die for US and European capital, not for “freedom or democracy.” We see how fragile these attempts by US imperialism are to create new alliances when the Trump administration threatens Russia with new blockades and higher tariffs because Russian imperialism is taking advantage of the situation to occupy larger parts of Ukraine. It is an agreement between predators to the detriment of the people.

As Marxist-Leninist parties and organizations of Europe, we call on the working class and peoples to unite against this policy carried out at their expense and to fight together against it, for bread, freedom, peace and friendship among the peoples, instead of poverty, fascism, rearmament and wars of plunder.

Only the unity and struggle of the working class and oppressed peoples against the barbaric capitalist-imperialist system will open the way to fundamental changes in working and living conditions.
