Comrade Erol “Arif” Büyükkaraca has died.
Comrade Arif was a long-time member of the Executive Board of the Labor Party of Turkey (Emek Partisi), and a life-long proletarian internationalist and revolutionary.
Many of us got to know Comrade Arif at various international conferences where his devotion to Marxism-Leninism and his fighting spirit were an inspiration and an example for all to follow. We in the American Party of Labor join our hearts with, and extend our hands to, our siblings in Turkey and around the world in mourning the passing of an exemplary communist, a committed revolutionary, a comrade and friend.
Comrade Arif has died, but his cause and his struggle lives on. A cause that is immortal and ever-victorious. As is Comrade Arif.
Long live proletarian internationalism!
Long live the militant friendship of the Turkish and American working class!
