It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of our dear comrade Sarah Domingues.

Sarah was a militant and leader of the União da Juventude Rebelião (UJR), an organization to which she dedicated her best years and all her joy in life, becoming one of the main student leaders in Porto Alegre. An architecture student, she was coordinator of the Correnteza Movement, director of the National Union of Students (UNE), the Central Directory of UFRGS (Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul) Students, the Architecture Academic Directory and a member of the UFRGS University Council.

On Tuesday, Jan. 23, Sarah was killed while taking photos for her thesis in a neighborhood on the outskirts of Porto Alegre, in circumstances that are still unknown.

Today, Jan. 24, we will hold an event in memory of Sarah and for the immediate investigation of this barbaric crime. The state of Rio Grande do Sul needs to be held accountable for this crime, as it is responsible for the situation of generalized instability to which our people are subjected. WE WANT JUSTICE!

We invite everyone to join us in paying tribute to our beloved and unforgettable comrade and friend. For her sake, we will not take a single step backwards; we will continue to dedicate our entire lives to ensuring that her dream of a society without exploitation, hunger and violence is realized as soon as possible!
